LibKey Nomad is a free browser extension that provides seamless one-click access to full text articles the library has access to directly from most publisher web pages as well as PubMed.

To install the extension visit: https://thirdiron.com/downloadnomad/

  • Grant any required permission(s) to add the extension*
  • Enter "SUNY Optometry" when prompted to select your institution from the drop-down menu

Upon restarting your web browser you will now see one of the three following buttons when you are looking at articles in PubMed, ScienceDirect, and other scholarly publisher platforms.

LibKey Nomad Buttons

  • Download PDF: The library has access to this item and you can download the full-text PDF with one click.
  • Article Link: The library has this item and you'll be directed to the article page where you can download the full text.
  • Access Options: The library may not have access to this item, but you'll be directed to where you can make a request via Interlibrary Loan.

*When adding the extension your web browser may ask for permission to add the extension along with a message that it can "read and change data on the websites you visit." You see this message because LibKey Nomad must be able to read the pages and change them to add download buttons. No data about you or your searches is tracked and no account is required.
